Techniques for improving memories.

Image
Summary About Topic: When talking about memory I wanted to state the importance of memory and how pivotal it is in our daily lives. We use this three syllable word like it is a simple term, but little do we know without memory we could not accomplish many of our daily tasks. And it is not just like only certain individuals use memory, everyone in the entire world uses memory to do some sort of tasks, even animals use it but we will not get into that because that is for a different time. First it is important to define what memory actually is, how we retain information over time and this is also how we learn and practice many of our school, work, and tasks that we do. However, memory is then broken into three general different types: short term memory, sensory memory  and the other being long term memory. Let's talk about sensory memory which is the very sudden and brief recording of the sensory information that we review in the memory system and this can be through any of five

Entry #10 Inside Out

Image
I watched  the movie Inside Out at the weekend and  moreover enjoyed the script and characteristic inventiveness of the movie. I was struck by the emotional depth of a film whose primary audience is young kids. Life would be dull if our emotions were horizontal. We’d lack passion and zest. The wide range of emotions we encounter play a role in our human encounter and essence our personality, mood, behavior and motivation. Yes, emotions can be raw, messy and visceral,  but they can additionally be   profound, beautiful, and comforting. They all add dimension and flavor.   Disgust in the role of acceptable social behaviors has the potential to be very important. If we teach our children there are certain values that are important, and morals to follow, they have the potential to be offended (disgusted) when behaviors opposite to their values are displayed. It may keep them from getting involved in substance abuse, risk taking actions and becoming sexually active. If disgust helps th

Junk Food        Teenagers should eat healthy and energetic food. Junk food including fast food burgers, fries etc looks good to eat, but these things are not healthy. First of all, these things are full of calories and full of fat. They are full of sugar, fat and salt. Fries and chips are cooked in oil and they are deep-fried. So you can imagine how much oil it has in them. Junk food usually has very few nutrients and a lot of fat, sugar and salt. Your body can often get too much of these and so eating junk food on a regular basis can make you unhealthy. Some experts refer to junk food as "empty calories" meaning that the food contains lots of calories that are not particularly helpful to your body. Thus, by eating this food you are killing yourself and making you off-colour.           Not only is it low in calories and makes you unhealthy, you also may become overweight and full of fat. When you eat a burger, pizza, chips,

Entry #6 Moving from Malaysia to America.

Image
When I was in Malaysia, I really wished to go to school. When I see the kids are going to school, I feel so sad and I think that I can never be smart like them. The president won't let me go to school because my parents are from another country. Even though I was born there, they still don’t give me citizenship because my parents are from another country. If I went to school, they charged so much money that my dad couldn’t make it. My parents were sad because it has been 7 years since I was 6 years old, looking at other kids going to school and I can’t go. So, my parents decided to move to America. On October 6, 2015, my parents are getting ready to move to America. I feel so scared to move because I thought that the people won't like me and I don’t know how to speak English. The next day, I saw my mom parking up the bags. I quickly ran to my best friend's house and I said goodbye to her, she hugged me and cried. I feel so bad that I will never find a kind friend like her
